Hi everyone,

have a 2007 Navigator, and the power step does not work with the front passenger door.

I cleaned the switch out with wd40 and it worked for a day, then quit.
Just replaced the switch this weekend, worked for a day, then quit.

Any other ideas? When testing with a paperclip, it did seem a little lazy. The pigtail is $30, seems overpriced. Only other thing I can think of is possibly the GEM?

Thanks

Sounds like the amp draw is killing the switch? Lubing will lower the amp draw....

Have you lubed the moving parts with motorcycle chain oil spray? The carrier fluid is very thins and carries the lube into all the nooks, then evaporates leaving the lube....it works great on these moving running boards.

the weird thing is, when I pull it out, the door Ajar switch works fine.

maybe I need to service the actual latch... maybe the cam mechanism isn't depressing the switch?

Does it work OK with the rear passenger door?
Does it deploy & retract correctly using on the on-screen menu settings?

yep. it's something in the driver's door.

actually, if the switch works, we can assume the wiring and connector work.

So something between the latch and the switch.

hmmmm....
