Proper way of priming fuel after fuel pump change

Is there any proper way of priming a fuel pump and system after the fuel pump has been changed? Thanks!

just install it and turn the key to the "on" position, turn it off, repeat 3 or 4 times?

I'm pretty sure it's nothing special, not like priming a brand new engine with oil or anything like that.

I was just wondering cause there would be air bubbles in there after you put in gas and cause the truck to hiccup while driving.

as stated above gasoline has a high air content to begin with so no worries there...

Even if air bubbles did get in that initial line of fuel, I would think they would work themselves out so fast you wouldn't even have time to notice it.

ok so the fuel pump got changed out and my mechanic cleaned out the gas tank and said there was A LOT of gunk in the gas tank, the fuel filter got changed before the fuel pump, would it be wise to change out the fuel filter again just in case it caught any more gunk?

Definatly always change the filter with a new pump and tank cleaning even if you just changed it. It is cheap protection!

yea I'd just do it, 10 bucks and 10 minutes, not like youre losing much
