Steering response is not affected. Weighting is, but ratio is not.

If you have CCD, Sport increases dampening, eco lessons. Sport is a stiffer ride, Eco is softer.

Does the manual have the specifics on this? Or even this level of info? Haven’t looked in a while

Yes, 256 and 261 of the Expeditions manual. We do not have a variable ratio system for steering just EPAS, so weighting can be affected. This has been discussed many times.

In my manual it's on page 267, and pretty vague:

"ECO - For efficient and responsible driving. This mode helps deliver maximum fuel
efficiency and increases driving range."

"Normal - For everyday driving. This mode is a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and efficiency and increases driving range."

Mine has a clutch whine @2000 rpm right before it disengages the clutches.

I have some type of a whine which sounds like it is coming from the front, but not sure. Happens with in 4A and I am on the accelerator (any level of input) and goes away as soon as i take my foot off the accel, and then the noise is back when back on accel.
Any thoughts? Thank you.

Is it the faint swoosh? This is normal, but not sure if a gear whine is OK.

I am not a serious off roader, a little overlanding in the past when I owned the 250, but that has been years. My experience with this system has been some muddy country roads, gravel, grass, and hard 0-60 launches. My 2017 did AMAZING in the Snow, and I expect this 2020 to do the same. Honestly I would leave it in 4A, and save the simulated locker and 4L for when it got really rough or I was stuck. It is the friend that gets you out of the sticky situation like others have said. I will be putting some better tires on it next Fall, but I will see how these OEM 22's do this year.
Same here
All 4x4 systems and lockers need tires to give or you see issues. Even my J80 got loud and grumpy at times when the full time system didn’t get slip when it needed something to give. The enemy of these more modern clutch systems is heat caused by heavy loads pushed to the clutches vs tire slip. More so now than the old systems you need to avoid using the lockers till you actually have limited traction. Given using this technology on terrain that offers good grip can actually damage the system, but thats not a negative given using it correctly its quite good given how active it can be managing what little traction might be available.

Honestly having had pickups and then Full sized SUVs these SUVS have much better rear grip than pickups. I find that 4high or awd etc is only a snow need and rarely needed in the wet. Dirt roads 2wd gets you pretty far however!!! Running 4x4 especially on rocky terrain reduces the chances of shredding a rear tire due to spinning the rears in 2wd.
The lockers are awesome when the surface gets sloppy! My Sequoia and my Land Cruiser were great till I hit a crossed up section of sloppy trail and without locker they were stopped in their tracks ie 2wd. Having the ability to kick the rear locker on especially on these big SUVs is a huge deal. But you never use them till your crossed up and can’t move forward.
