Ok,

New guy here, just traded my wifes car for a 03 EB with the 6CD in dash changer and the rear DVD player. I have read the owners manual and think I have the dual zone thing figured out but I am not sure.

In "single mode" the DVD plays fine through all the speakers. In "Dual mode" the DVD plays, the sound however is only emitted through the front speakers, no sound comes out of the rear speakers.

If I change the source on the front stereo in DUAL mode the DVD keeps playing, and the sound from the new source (i.e. FM) comes out of the front speakers. However, I am then left with no sound from the DVD at all. The owners manual leads me to believe that the rear speakers should play this sound with the volume controlled from the rear, or is the dual mode limited to headphone use in the rear only? I do not think my truck had the IR headphones as there is a 3.5mm standard headphone jack in the back on the audio control plate.

Any answers? I am liable to go postal if I have to hear any more Sponge Bob or Blues Clues.

In Dual Mode you will have the tuner or CD through the front speakers only, and the DVD will play through the wireless headsets. Look on the front of the DVD pod, and if there are 2 dark red squares on either side, those are the IR emitters.
