Radio turns on without power

I have a 2019 and recently the radio will turn on without keys or prompting. I at first thought I left it on or my dog somehow pushed did it. But one day I was walking across parking lot and I could hear the music blasting. It happens when no keys are present and occurs randomly too. I can be at home talking in the phone and 30 minutes into my call it connects to the vehicle.

Curious what it could be- I don’t want to have a dead battery.

Shouldn’t be happening there is a timer that can be set from anywhere 1 second to whatever seconds (I forget) and it will turn the radio and power plugs off (battery run down protection) using Forscan. I had mine set to 1 second because of all the extra electronics my previous truck was carrying.

What that tells me is the modules in your car aren’t in deep sleep. Something wakes up or is constantly awake on the Canbus. Have a look with an oscilloscope on the OBD2 plug see what happens to these data signals. You should also have a considerable battery drain and the fuel mileage tanked too.

Try also to take that battery out over night, give it a good charge, clean the battery terminals and the clamp terminals and maybe it fixes itself (reset)? If it does not you have to figure out what module is not sleeping and go from there.

My 18 expy will emit a loud Pop through the speakers from time to time.. sometimes a lot. I thought maybe it had something to the EXPENSIVE aftermarket amps and other stuff.

I think I saw a bulletin about the radio making a popping sound and other weird behaviour.

Mine sometimes illuminates, but doesn't turn on. Weird indeed.

I have a 2018 with the exact same issue, dealer replaced the BCM and it did not fix the issue.
