Radio wont turn off

So I just bought my replacement for my 03 navigator (the one that was lit on fire), its an 03 Eddie Bauer Expedition. I got it for a steal, but it has a couple things I need to fix and a couple I want to fix. One of the things I want to fix is that the radio doesn't turn off when I open the door. Is this likely that purple wire issue I have read about on f150 forums or has other people had this issue and know another possible fix.

no issues in my 04...make sure you have the turn on/remote wires connected correctly

I had this issue in mine. The door jamb switch was bad. I replaced it and now the radio turns off, the headlight ON chime works, and key in ignition chime works now when door is opened and ignition is off.

6k, its the factory stereo so I dont know that it was ever disconnected.

Thanks Boobie33, I will check the other stuff to make sure they still work. if all it turns out to be is a bad switch that would be great.

Yeah so the key door chime doesnt work, the interior light doesnt turn on when I open the door, and the radio doesnt shut off. I looked for that swtich, I was expecting to see it when I open the door, is it hidden behind the kick panel?

the switch is inside of the door You will need to remove the door panel

I ordered the switch listed in that thread, and it didnt fit. I ordered the switch i linked here in this thread

have you tried to disconnect the connector on the door switch
try this with the engine off and the key in the ignition if the chime works then you know the switch is bad you could also turn the lights on and the key removed as this will also cause the chime to sound with the door switch disconnected
