Rear End Vibration???

I've had this problem for a couple months and can't track it down. When I'm driving around 30-45 mph I get a vibration that seems like it comes from rear end. I have checked all the u joints and all are tight. Not loose at all. It is smooth all through the power except between 30-45mph. I was thinking of changing the rear end fluid but is there anything else I need to look for?

Have you had the wheel balance checked on the rear end?

Also are your wheels hub-centric? (does the hole in the center ride on the lip on the axle)

What is the condition are the rear shocks, bushings, etc in?


Changing the gear oil can't hurt, but I seriously doubt that is going to fix your problem.

rear end rumble I've had in the past was on turns from a stop...that was the diff chatter and fixed with a fluid change and diff additive. second the above troubleshooting as far as bushings, balance. Hope you'll update with your progress!

Yea sorry. I have my stock 17's back on. But my 22s were hub centric. Also it does while driving straight. Not turning. Has new rear shocks and bags. Bushings on sway bars and stuff arnt the greatest but don't look horrible.

Check to see if your trans cross member is broken and if the metal part of your trans mount bushing is resting against the cross member.

It's probably a shudder from your torque converter. I had the same issue with mine and after awhile of research that's what I think it is. I used Dr. Tranny instant shudder fix and it took my problem away. May take 2 bottles but it works
