i was lookin at my 98 today, dont drive it much behind my super duty and my s10 gas getter for back and forth to work, mainly just my "nice" vehicle so not sure how long its been since i actually drove it, seems as though the passenger side has dropped down around an inch lower than the drivers side, it does not have airbags its got coil springs and shocks on the rear, hoping its only shocks, any info or previous experience would be very appreciated, thanks!!

Check to make sure you don't have a leaky shock, or a broken mount.
Could also be tire pressure & if it's not parked on a "hard" surface, perhaps it has sunk down?

cant really tell if the shocks leaky, other than i dont see any fluid running down it, would the shock be the reasoning behind the sag? i assumed the coil was what holds the truck up and the shock just helped the ride, mounts look intact, really cant see anything wrong

Normal shocks are not load bearing unless you have the old style air shocks.
Check tire pressure and make sure your on level ground when comparing ride stance.

i am on perfectly level ground in my garage, air pressure if all the same all the way around, everything looks and checks to be normal, could it be as simple as the coil spring has just lost its tension

That can be a cause along with worn out bushings in the rear suspension. I would take a look at those also.
I can say that Ford recommends not jacking the rear of the car up from the pumpkin. Well, I did just to see why - raises the right rear while lowering the left rear.

ok ill look at those bushings as well, ive looked for the replacement coils and all is see is the conversion kits to switch it from bags to coils. Will those coils work? also has anyone replaced these before? i did a coil spacer lift on a 3500 dodge ram once and had to use the spring comperssor tool, seemed dangerous would love to know a safer alternative, thanks for the input!!

Don't know if they would fit - I would expect them to be different.

Easiest is to get original from a dealer or aftermarket source. Next up would be junk yard.

Everytime I've had to do coil spring work I've had to use a spring compressor.

Be glad you dont own a jeep. An inch is nothing. Its the torque side. Over time perfectly normal.

Check control arms to make sure they did not rust through and possibly bending or otherwise deformed. Rusted through rear control arms are common on these.

You could always add weight to the drivers side until she matches.. :uhoh2:
Make sure you fill the fuel tank first. :p
