So first I just want to say hello to everyone as I am a new member. I am the new owner of a used but still fairly new 2011 el xlt. Truck so far is great has alomost every option except nav, which I will be adding soon. My question is about the rear DVD setup. My truck did not come with the headphones, so until I get a chance to buy a set how do I play it through the speakers? I did a search and only thing I could find was to put stereo on aux, didn't work. any help would be great thanks in advance

If you have just the regular radio I think you just push the #2 and #4 memory buttons at the same time to switch between speakers ( single play) and headphones ( dual play )

Do have the owners manual?

You need to press the Aux button a few times to get to the DVD, same as getting to Sat radio(if you have that). Then as mentioned prior, 2 and 4 at the same time toggles te modes. When in dual play, a little headphone icon appears on the radio display and then you can switch back to another mode, ie radio while the kids are watching/listening to DVD. Until you have the headphones just use Aux a few times to get to the mode(DVD) you want and then keep it in single play and it will be on the speakers.

Thanks for the reply guys. I tried both ways you mentioned and didn't work. There is no DVD mode by hitting aux button. Tried single play and dual nothing through speakers. I have the truck manual but not the one for system.

Brian, are you sure the radio thats in it is the correct radio for your Expy ? Sometimes previous owners replace the stock stuff with aftermarket and when it's time to sell the get the cheapest factory radio to throw back in. Can you post some pics of the radio or better yet pull it out of the dash and look at the part #. Sounds to me like you have the wrong radio.

p.s. If this isnt a factory radio then chances are it's not gonna work with the rear seat entertianment setup anyway.

So I think the radio is the correct one it does have all the controls on it for sync. But I will grab a picture to show. It did have the dvd headrest listed on the sticker so I am assuming those are stock but who knows. I will grab pics of both.

??? Are you talking about the rear DVD setups in your headrests ??? If so then dont bother trying to figure it out. I dont believe the headrest ones are tied into the factory radio. Only the DVD units mounted to the ceiling have the ability to be controlled by the factory radio. Sorry.

Thanks Matt. That makes sense. My wife drives the truck everyday. So sorry about my delayed responses. Every time I go to drive is usually when I remember.
