In my '02 EB the OEM rear sub does not work. I inspected the speaker and it appears to be in good shape. I also checked the amp and the plugs are connected on both sides. Is there a seperate fuse for the amp? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Don't amp have one or two fuses on them? I know I've seen them on the "aftermarket" ones at Best Buy.

I am not sure if the OEM amp has an inline fuse. I can probably take spend a few hours trying to find out. Does anyone know if the amp has inline fuses on it?

I have pulled the stock amp out of my truck like the second week i had the truck and there no fuses on it at all. All it has on it are 2 sets or pins where the wire clips plug into.

thanks lakmflx. I was seriously considering pulling off that whole rear panel to inspect the amp. Well I guess I need to check the head unit to make sure the sub speaker connector is actually connected to the head unit.

The plug for the sub actually plugs into one side of the amp.

Yeah I have seen both plugs. You have to remove that whole side rear panel to get at the amp, to remove it.

After troubleshooting, my results were that everything was connected so I pulled out my multimeter and began tracing the voltage. I found that there was 12vdc and 5vdc on the input plug and 0vdc on the output plug to the subwoofer. So I had a friend that works in a Ford dealer's parts dept ordered me a new factory amp. I got it for the dealer's cost at $105.00. A quick 5 minute install of the amp and my system sounds pretty good. That woofer cranks out some decent bass for an everyday driver.

Now if I could get hold of a schematic for the amp I could use the test points to isolate the faulty component inside and replace them. Then I would have a spare amp.

a friend i work with has a 2000 eb he bought used and his amp did not work, after checking the amp and the fuses, we pulled the radio, seen nothing wrong, took the one out of my 03 eb plugged it in just to test the system and it worked great, what we found out was when it was sitting on the dealers lot someone switched the radio and put one in frpm a xlt in it,(xlt did not come with the sub woofer) the one they put in was not setup for the bass speaker, i would check that out before you go any further.
