Just recently, our rear glass began squeaking going over large bumps. Then, it slowly started becoming more frequent until it was pretty much driving us nuts when the road wasn't perfect.
After doing several forum and internet searches, i found nothing other than suggestions to lubricate the seals.
So after going over everything again, I realized the window latch was much different than my 04 Expy. This one has a threaded shaft and jam-nut. So I broke the jam-nut loose with a 13mm open end and held the latch with a large adjustable wrench. After breaking it loose and backing off the nut, I turned the latch in 180°. I tightened everything up and baja'd that bit(h down the worst road I could find.
No more squeaks!!! I feel like the smartest man this side of Salt Creek. 1000015421.jpg

I bought a new 2024 Tahoe Premier 4WD, after getting rid of my defect-prone Expediton.

GM issued a TSB for a rear window squeak (the Tahoe’s rear hatch window opens electronically and is similar to the Expedition). GM’s solution was to add some SuperLube grease to the latch striker, to eliminate a “rubbing-type” squeak.
