The installers claim that the ExpressKit PKALL will not program on this truck. I'm unable to ascertain whether this is truly a problem with this vehicle, the PKALL module or the processes which are attempted.

The bottom line is that after 2 weeks of this and having been stranded due to installation efforts, I'm tired of it and I want this %$#@! truck finished and the Remote Start to function. I don't want to leave a key so I need a bypass that absofreakinlutely works.

Anyone have a bypass on a 97-98 . . what model is it?

Anyone successful with the PKALL?

I had a problem finding the bypass for mine as well. Problem was that early 98's still required the PATS1 bypass, and later produced 98's needed the PATS2 bypass. Most books have the wrong bypass listed for 98's. Well, not wrong. It's right for 90% of the 98 models, just not the first 10% or so that rolled off the line. So even though it may show that it works on 98 and up, you may need to go with one from a 97.

Thx Guys, yeah it occurred to me that I might just have a new key cut and take this oldest looking one I have and secure it next to the PATS ring and call it a day. I can dremel off the teeth.

Why do things have to be so complicated? :)

I originally had the key in the dash trick too, but oddly, every time it got below -20 degrees, which is when I really wanted to use the remote start, the damn thing wouldn't work. Just got a few attempts at turning over, and my AntiTheft light would go on. Maybe just a bad wire or something. But after that, I ended up taking it to the pro installer. I'm sure it would work for anyone else, but for some reason, it just didn't work on mine.lol.

Th for asking, I didn't do the work so I can't say for sure.

What I have now is a PKALL with cut wires so I can't return it, and 4 splices on the harness for the PATS ring with electrical tape on them.

And still no remote start.

AFAIK its the original PATS ring from the looks of the cable. Th Viper 5904 is the unit with the remote start.

I could try the Fortin EVO-ALL but I would probably just do it myself and and test with jumpers, not risk someone else butchering the unit and wires.

Yeah, I could have gotten a defective item etc. I read the SSV Supplement and couldn't see any reason why a PKALL wouldn't work.

I ordered a Fortin EVO-ALL and see how that goes.

Anyone want a not so used PKALL :D
