Hello,

My local dealer just got their first 25 in. It's a Platinum (not max) with the premium upgrade package that someone else ordered. It has remote start with the fob on it so fingers crossed most of them have it that were ordered early.

Just saw this article on Ford Authority. https://fordauthority.com/2025/03/2025-ford-expedition-remote-start-is-late-availability-feature/

Kind of a disappointment for those who have ordered early. From what I can tell, this only affects starting via remote and not using the app on the phone.

https://www.youtube.com/live/iEapBrKWI68?si=HcWPPRws_cINNUgq&t=7395 Some more info as well. He seems disappointed as well.
I think Kind of a disappointment is a bit of an understatement.

Again, I thank the Lord I decided to wait and see if all the GEN 4 issues have been resolved before ordering. If I had ordered, I would be canceling the order today.

Look at my last reply. There is hope.
Were you actually able to start it remotely, because I would think the FOBS would look normal and there is some internal vehicle component missing that disables the FOB functionality.

Here is to hoping I'm wrong.

Yea it looks like this article might not be very reliable. Thankful to hear and see reports of them having it.

I see the fob remote start is confirmed but how about through the Fordpass app?

According to order guide, Phone as a key is only available on performance and ultimate packages.

Wanted to double check myself, so I called Ford tech support and according to the rep at Ford Pass - the Phone as a Key only works on electric Ford products (Lincoln is different, per the rep). Huh. I can still use the app or my keyfob to start...

Its not much added to the app, just a setting and instructions you need to start the connection process. When I had the feature on my nav, you wouldn't need the key as long as your phone was in or near the car...and you could set a code to start the vehicle if something happened to your phone. It was finicky so I turned it off in the app.

From the 2025 Order Guide released 10/24/2024:

Tremor standard equipment

Platinum equipment group 600A

These are the only places where Phone as a Key is mentioned in the Order Guide. I have no idea why this feature is so restricted.

If I was buying a Platinum, I'd be pissed if myself or my sales person missed this note for the Platinums and I didn't also order 17A or 19B.

There is no mention of Phone as a Key in the Order Guide for the King Ranch.
