Hello i have a 2019 max platinum. The issue im having is if i dont hold the 2x button down on second click the remote start will start but then immediately dies. If i do hold on click then it works usually. Any ideas why it doesnt work with the normal double click?

I would replace both batteries for the key and the engine.

I don’t think so. If the car battery would be the cause, it would always or most of the time do that… even with just normally starting the engine with the push button from inside the car.
Some remotes had a LED confirmation indicator in the key fob. The later ones do not have that (probably COVID or whatever). Change the battery in the key fob… sounds plausible, but not the car battery.
The remote start sequence supposed to be pressed within 3 seconds.

It is: lock, crank,crank.
But if you press: lock, crank, crank, crank… it will exactly do that what you say. It will start, then kill the engine. Lol :driver:

If the remote start sequence is successful, a single press on the crank button will turn the engine off again.

This may or may not be your issue, but I believe that the vehicles are programmed to NOT start remotely if the fuel level is below a certain point.

Updating an old thread:

Start the car while sitting in it with the remote. Hold the 2X button for ten seconds while the car is running.

It may work correctly now.

There's a list of 9 or 11 factors that must be right for the remote to work -- hood closed, battery charged, fuel not low, etc. Also you can only remote start the car twice without turning on the ignition switch. AFter that, the remote will fail to start it.
