remote start - works on ford pass but keyfob doesn't

just a month ago the remote start was working fine on both keyfab and app, now nothing happens on the keyfab, both keyfabs stopped working actually.

I changed keyfab batteries hoping that might fix but still no go. (unlock/lock/liftgate all work)
When I try on keyfab I see a solid red light (which I believe means it sent signal successfully) but nothing happens on exped, no click, no lights, nothing

Dashboard doesn't show any engine codes or door/hood ajar messages, to let me know that a code is present or any other stop conditions, plus since the ford pass app works I'm a bit lost.

Its almost like a setting is turned off but since ford pass works I'm totally lost. I searched forum but seems most of the other posts have issues with remote start not working through any feature including app.

FYI, you will almost always get more replies if you post the year, model & trim of your vehicle....

But to the point, you may need a reset of the remote start module, either thru forscan or at a stealership, or a new module altogether (hope not, cause they ain't cheap)....

When the keyfob receives an acknowledgement message back from the Expedition that it remote started, the keyfob will flash green. Not red.

For example, when I am too far away from our Expeiditon and try to remote start from the keyfob it flashes red 2 or 3 times.

aww yes, I thought posting in 4th gen would be sufficent but yeah I guess different years might make a different.

Either by buying & using the FORscan app & OBD-2 adapter with a laptop, or take it somewhere that has the equipment to do it for you, most likely a stealership....

And after thinking about it for a while, it could also be that remote module is not recognizing your keys, which could also be fixed using the above....

Ok, I’m confused! Go figure! But if the remote start works with Ford Pass …..Why would it need a reset? It seems to me the remote start module is working. Yes…no?
