I have a 2000 Expedition 5.4L with 130,000 miles.
I know for sure it needs new tires and a transmission overhaul.
I primarily have this to pull my ski boat.
Is there a way for a repair shop to test the engine to see if
the vehicle is still worth making those kinds of repairs? Still
as powerful as when purchased, etc?
Also, at that mileage, what other major repairs should I be considering? New belts, hoses, shocks, struts, muffler, etc?
I believe the brakes to be in good shape.
Thanks for any help.

The way I see it; will the Expy be worth the money you put in it? It's always cheaper to keep her. Do you have anything else to pull your boat?

I concur they're usually cheaper to keep, short of changing out an engine. Just wondering if that was looming ahead. No, nothing else to pull the boat.

well it would be cheaper to repair it i mean i am hoping to get 250000 out of my 2000 expedition and yes they can do some test on the motor to tell what kindof shpae it is in. but if you did sell it how much would you need out of it
