My fuel pump relay went out and I've bought two different boxes from salvage. Everything works but the alternator won't charge the battery. It worked fine with the old box will not with either of the others.

Ok then remove the fuel pump relay from one of the two you bought and soilder it onto your old box and put back your old one and bam problem solved. Practice first on one of the replacment parts and then attempt the repair on your old unit.

make sure that the fuse block has the same exact part number as the original fuse block. there is a wiring change from early production and late production models.

one uses a fusible link and the other uses a fuse. have attached prints so you can see the difference

On the alternator is a 3pin connector C102a check pin 3 on that connector, the orange/light blue wire to see if you have 12 volts.

Yep that was the problem. Apparently my box was a 2l1t and built in 02. The others I got were a 3l7t and a 3l1t made in 04. Thanks for the help I'll just order a box now because that was the last within 200 miles.

The circuit board was black and the traces were lifting around the relay. I don't think I have the know how to save that lol

Thanks for the up date on the problem
It may have been a good thing as the two you got from salvage that have the 04 build date may have failed eventually, The new fuse box that you will be getting will have a much newer build date and should be problem free.

After you get the new box post your results back on the forum.
