one question. why are they bixenon? the f150's are that way. we have a seperate hi and low beam on the 2nd gen. in the video it now looks like your og hi beams are useless.

i was wondering that too. it would be cool if you hit your high beams that the projectors would turn on and the 2nd high beam would turn on. that would be cool.

Maybe they were just testing the functionality of the HIDs and rings. Most bixenon cars also have a separate high beam, so as to still have flash-to-pass capability. This is because the HID takes a bit to warm up to be sufficiently visible, especially in the day time. The newer/newest bixenon equipped cars have ditched the halogen high since new HID systems warm up do fast.

i will still have function of my highbeams as he stated in the quote...i dont use my high beams now...it demishes the light output...HIDs are all i need and i've just drove through unlit mountains...never need the high beams...so when you have HIDs...in my opinion...high beams are only good for flashing...AND i have HIDs in my fogs...

There's a wire that taps into the high beam circuit that actuates the solenoid in the projectors. The solenoid is separate from the HIDs themselves. Whenever he hits the high beams, the halogen highs will energize, as well as power the solenoid to bring down the "flap"/cover. This lets the top half of the beam (previously blocked by the flap) out.

When his low beams are off, and he wants to flash to pass, his high beams will turn on, and activate the solenoid. But, since the HID lows are off, you won't notice it.
