There is no reason to actually remove the steering wheel correct?
Just un hook the battery, let system drain for 15 min. to de activate air bags.
Remove air bag, remove steering column cover.
Wire steering wheel control switch to clock spring.
Then There are more wires that are needed from Clock spring to radio harness?
I'm installing an aftermarket unit that supports the steering wheel controls so as long as the signal gets to the harness it should work.
Orrin, your switch has -Temp+ does that actually do anything since you don't have climate control? I guess it could be made to control the rear?
Last question for now, IF the steering wheel has to be removed... Do you really need to use a new bolt? The repair manual states, remove steering bolt and dispose of, use new bolt when re-assembling.
