So Ive been thinking about installing some roof cab lights like the super duty's have on my 16 expy. What do you all think? I've got a readylift and getting ready for larger tires and just wanted to see what y'all thought about adding these lights. Anyone done it to theirs?

I think it will look cool but I hate the idea of putting holes in the roof of the cab. It's just another potential failure point.

I dunno....we've all got showers and bathtubs....they all have holes through the tub or shower base...and they don't leak....and they get wet every single day...and I walk on 'em too!
LOL....if he seals them with the rubber gasket they come with & a bit of hoogie sauce, they'll be good to go...just file down the edges when you drill through the deck so they don't cut the wires over time.

Call me old fashion, but my dad still rings in my ears about putting holes in the roof of a car. Of course back then we didn't have the good sealers that we have now.

Not gonna lie: I don't like it. If you want to drive a big rig, buy a big rig. But, as previously stated; to each his own.

Clearance lights (that's what those are) are DOT-mandated for certain trucks. I believe it is a 10000-lb tow capacity, but I could be wrong about that. Here's the thing.. if you put them on and one of them goes out, state patrol/DOT/other law enforcement could write you a ticket. They won't care that you did it for looks. I was OK with the look on my superduty, but my $.02 it that it would look pretty bad on an expedition. That's my opinion, do what you want.

To me I don't think it's right. The Super Duty lights serve a purpose as the truck is high so it's an indicator of clearance in garages and under low areas (parking ramps). To put them on an expy is just to look cool they aren't for anything. That's just my thought. One original and functional and one not so much. The SD as stated above needs them as well.
