Friends. I REALLY need help/advice on this issue. The Moonroof creaks and cracks when going over uneven pavement, bumps and even when turning. It's been to the Dealership, twice. They've greased the snot out of it and said the refitted it. This lasts about 3 days. It's happening a lot and is annoying. This is my fourth Expy and the first with the roof. I've had 2 loaners. One was an F-150 with the same roof, no issues. The other was a 2023 Expy, Limited, like mine. 20K Plus on the Clock, no issues. I had that one for 2 weeks or so. I thought i saw something on this site about my issue and cannot find the thread. HELP!

I’ve had the Pano roof now twice. Once in an F150 that creaked all the time and now this Expy, that creeks once in a blue moon. Both vehicles came from factory with a misaligned Pano roof. Actually my Expy was misaligned real bad, but zero creeks. I checked on an Expy Timberline on the dealers lot and it had the exact same misalignment. Ford did this misalignment toward the end on purpose, because it takes the creaking and cracking out. However then you have to fight with dust and water intrusion. So I adjusted mine to shut and seal 100%. I am in Canada and the vehicle outside 100% of the time. I am amazed every time on how much dirt I get off of the rubber seals.
Twice a year I clean the rubber with an old T-shirt with a CC inside and cleaner. Then respray it with 3in1 RV rubber conditioner / sealer.
Krytox is the best lube, but expensive as heck. Don’t put a thick coat of silicone grease on there, that rubber around the glass will get a melted look after time.

I had the same problem with my 2021 Max. Turns out the part that was making noise was the cross bar on the mesh part. It was bouncing some when I hit a rough road or bump. I put some round foam around the bar, secured with cable ties and the noise problem disappeared. Worth a try. Worked for me.

I would try the service bulletin yourself. And use the Krytox grease. My wife's first expedition made all kinds of racket when we got it. The dealer basically blew us off. After doing the bulletin we had no noise. It isn't hard so don't be afraid to try it. You can get the grease on Amazon.

The TSB mentions two different Krytox products - lube, and grease. You just mention the grease - did you get the lube too?

Edit: Wow, I'm struggling to find either product for sale up here. From what I can tell they've been replaced by Krytox GPL105 Oil, and GPL205 Grease.

After doing more research, the two products in the TSB are in fact Krytox GPL105 Oil (lube), and Krytox GPL205 Grease (grease).

Also, the TSB was updated from 19-2374 to 20-2093 to account for the newer model year.

Can you elaborate more on that cross bar? I’m not sure if that’s where my noise is coming from. Does that bar move together with the mesh curtain or is it fixed at the edge?
