Rubber vs Metal Valve Stem

Not sure what a screw-in stem is, but I assume you're thinking metal stems using a washer and nut on the outside of the rim. My first 3/4-ton pickup had metal stems; but every new vehicle I've had since then has come with rubber stems. If they come stock on the new vehicles that are warrantied against defects, I would imagine that they are pretty reliable across a broad range of vehicles.

Yes metal. Reason I was asking people is all over the internet there are so many opinions for metal and others for rubber. Some say metal can corrode or may have some effect on your rim depending on the rim alloy and some say they leak more. Hard to find any REAL WORLD usage opinions.

Do we have the option of metal with factory tpms systems?
I run metal stems on my trailer so I can use the valve cap tpms with a little more confidence. I’ve heard the weight of the caps can break the rubber ones over time.

I've had metal valve stems, fail on me due to corrosion. I was checking pressures one day and it snapped off in my hand. The tire obviously lost all of its air immediately. For this reason I don't like metal stems.
Curious if you had aftermarket caps or had new tires installed without changing the stems?
