Running Board Corrosion

I just noticed after taking my truck to the car wash that the chrome is starting to bubble up on the running board. Anyone else have this problem. I dont think it can be repaired. Its only 3 years old and my 36 month warranty is up so i guess that wont be covered anymore.

The chrome on mine isn't bubbling, but I absolutely see some light rust starting in areas, mostly near the front/back by the plastic caps. I'm gonna hit it with some rust inhibitor. And what surprises me, is I'm in a very dry climate, yes, we have snow and junk they put on the roads, but I usually wash mine 1-2 times a week, so it's kept pretty clean. Just junk materials is my guess.
