i just bought a 2014 expedition and i love it but the running boards are not moving. they dont move at all. they are stuck in the closed position. before i try and replace motors, i wanted to check for power at the harness to the motor. any assistance would be appreciated......like which wires carry voltage and how much voltage to operate the boards as well as any wiring diagrams. also, is there any relay that could be holding out the motor? please assist

thank you in advance

You can download the factory service manual and wiring diagrams from Cardiagn.com here: Download 2014 Expedition Service Manuals password is cardiagn.com

After you download it, extract the file to a convenient folder and the running boards wiring diagram is shown in with the Power Liftgate system file, in the wiring diagrams folder.

To extract the compressed file ( 144mb ...) the password is cardiagn.com

Make sure to go into the menu settings on the dash and verify that they are not set to "off".

You said this was a used 2014 that you just bought. First thing I would check is the fuse. I am having problems with the drivers side not staying down when opening the door and I have to recycle it. Now recently while driving down the road it will open and close on it's own. Almost like there are sensors that reverse the motor if it senses something may be in the way. SO I will clean and lube the motors and pivot points again. If it persisted on opening and closing I was going to pull the fuse. That may be what someone did who owned it before.
