I watched Fast N Loud last nite and they scuffed all the chrome on a 61 Lincoln to a satin finish, I would love to do my bumpers like this.

I have surfed the web and Im not finding much info on this?

From what I have seen, a Scotch-Brite pad is what most people use to do this. (I saw Chip Foose do it on Overhaulin'.) Use as fine a pad as you can find to do it. You can always go heavier on the grit if needed, but once you do, it's hard to go backwards without some major elbow grease.

Just remember that the chrome on those old bumpers is about 5 times thicker than the bumper on your truck. If you get too aggressive, you could go through to the base layers.

Definitely by hand...go to a paint store to get the real light grit scotch pads....and remember keep straight flat motions....the idea is to get a brushed look.....not swirly
