I just got done sea foaming my engine through the brake booster vacume line and I never saw any smoke from my exhaust, is that good or bad. I have a 97 EB with a 5.4 with about 150,000.

Did you make sure your engine was at operating temp before you added the seafoam? Then let it soak for about 15 minutes.

If you feed it in too slowly I have noticed that it will just burn it and not get the results you want. The best way I have found is to have two people one on the key and another on the bottle. Get the truck to operating temp ( not just warm, but full operating temp) take the brake booster vacuum line and shove it in the top of the can ( make sure to get at least 1 inch of hose inside the can, let it take in a good half of the can or more ( It will suck it in ) and then have your helper shut it off as fast as they can while the vacuum line is still in the can. Once the truck is off pull the hose out of the can and hook it back up to the booster, let it sit for 15 min. fire it up and drive like hell ( I don't rev it first, I just get in and get a little lead foot happy).

The other way if you don't have a helper is to do the same with putting the hose into the can but once about half the can or a little more has been sucked in push the hose all the way in ( or turn the can upside down so it will not suck any air with the seafoam ) and make it take a good slug of the seafoam and it will kill the motor because there will be more seafoam then gas.

Hope this helps.

what is the purpose of the sea foam and can it be done to all vehicles?

Seafoam is a product that will "CLEAN" all of the internal combustion parts of your engine ( ie: intake, valves, pistons) it removes the carbon build up that all engines produce and makes the engine run more efficent.

Seafoam does have a few restrictions but it does work in all gasoline powered motors. Just read the can at your parts store before using.

There are actually three ways to use the product. You can:

1. suck it in thru a main vacuum source that feeds all cylinders of the motor to clean the carbon build up.

2. Add it to your gas tank to clean the fuel system and more importantly the FUEL INJECTORS (carbon build up on injectors causes a poor spray and bad fuel economy)

3. Add to your oil prior to changing your oil to remove sludge build up. ( do not drive with the seafoam in the oil you can harm the bearings, just add it in and let it idle for a while when warm to clean)

Hope this awnsers your questions.
