Shifter probs 04 expedition wont shift to park

For a couple days my truck was having probs going into drive and today it wouldnt start because even though shifter was locked in park it was actually in reverse. put it in neutral and it started up, it drives normal through all gears but just wont go into park. please help [email protected]

Solution

Somehow shifter cable was lying on manifold and melted causing the problem, fix looks easy but dealer item only so i will wait till morning.
