Should I be prepared for anything?

People keep telling me that lifting the expedition is a bad idea... and I'm going to have problems with it. My brother also has a 98 XLT Expedition and he states that, as it is now it'll last for another 20 years, if you lift it, it'll last you 5 years...

I don't understand what the real problem is.. but I really don't want to run into any issues after lifting it. Hate to sound like a little girl, but this car is my LIFE. if anything happens to it I'm F*CKED

running bigger tires puts more strain on steering componets and wheel bearings and brakes... when they wear out replace and upgrade its part of the game with a lifted truck

no, that is about it. the truck will still last you another 20 years if you take care of it. you will just have to do maintenance a little more often than your brother would. besides, arent you just doing a body lift anyway? it doesnt change the geometry of any of the truck anyway, so you dont have to worry about that.

yeah I mean I'm always making sure everything is up to date, the thing is my baby so I care for it with my life.

and yeah the body lift and gap guards just came in the mail today. the coil spacers should be here on the 16th. installation should be on the 19th.

yeha, you wont have any problems. the body lift wont affect your driveline at all so you wont have any issues there. like stated above, you will just have to replace some of the components a little more often because of the additional rubber. but if you are going with 33's, you should still get a good amount of life out of your front end before you have to start replacing stuff.

yeah you will be good... they say dont lift an suv due to high center of gravity but they have been lifting scouts and jeeps and broncos forever so your fine
