Tires are in great shape except from city street parking, the sidewall have developed white areas where the black rubber fell off-- likely from endless curd bumps -- seems like the underneath white rubber layer that is used to form the white letters is just showing. Should I just turn the white lettering inward -- or must I get new tires for safety?

These are BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A lt265/70r17 -- psi 45...

Sold as a good highway & trail -- but has lots of road noise -- on the plus side they are good in mud and snow!
