Probably not as it’s a replaceable piece of plastic. You could always try wrapping it

I too need to put a plug in because of the damn license plate holder.

I just had to replace this part on the front of a 2019 Expedition Limited. The part # on the back of the part is JL1B-17F771-AAW and was originally molded as a silver part (not painted). The replacement for this part is part # JL1Z-8419-APTM and must be painted. After calling Ford Technical Support I found out it is called Iconic Silver and the paint code is JS and the touch up paint code is M7432A...

Hope this helps someone as it took me a few calls to finally get an answer...
