I know all about the windshield leaking on the driver's side into the Gem Unit. I believe I have that taken care of. Is it also common to have a leak on the passenger side at the same spot? It rained like crazy yesterday, and I saw a couple drips of water on the grab handle.

I would also like to further protect the GEM Unit. Should I put a plastic bag over it or something?

Nope, no sun roof.

I also wonder, with the notorious windshield leak, if went to Cindy Rowe or where ever and had the windshield replaced, would that fix the issue?

It should fix it, replacing the window that is, the sealent that Ford used was what caused the leakage issue to begin with.
