Sniper Tune

All,
I had green03 install a Sniper tune on my 03. WOW what a difference in performance. Also increased fuel economy by 4 MPG.

more details on the sniper tune please? read a little bit, but still a little unclear to its application.
What are they worth, and where did you purchase, and did you install of get the shop to do it?

It'll do what most other tuners/reflashers do: increase some HP, play around with shift points, adjust speedo based on tire size, speed/tach limiter.

You don't need to take it to a shop to install it, as you can do everything through your computer. But, if you want a custom tune, you can get one from Green03, that'll really fix up your tranny. Ask him for further details.

They run around 400 dollars, and you can do two Ford vehicles at one time, as long as they are 96 or newer.

The special forces kit also comes with a data logger, which I've been told will be coming out in a week or two.

Also, if you don't want the whole package, I think Green can burn you seperate chips, or something like that. Ask him for further details.

The trans tuning is what makes the tune on the 03. You will think it is a completely different truck. No more having to floor it to make it downshift and go......
Firefighter's tune is for 87 octane too.... i can also do tunes for premium fuel that usually get even better mileage that the one meant for the cheap stuff.
The default sniper tunes provided by the special forces kit give you the same power at WOT, but my trans tuning (took me 8 months to develop in my personal vehicle) makes the truck much more fun to drive and gets better mileage because of it as well.

Yep, I have the 93 octance tune. 13.4 mpg with a third of the tank spent at 90 mph, and the other part with a heavy foot "in town." This is using Chevron gas, BTW.

I highly recommend green03; He'll work with you until you're satisfied

will the sniper tunes work with an 07 expedition with the 3v 5.4L 6 speed transmission?

Not yet but hopefully soon. Anyone with an 03 can sure benefit though. I need to find someone with an 04 who wants to try out the same tune as the 03.

Just so anyone interested knows, the data logging software is out Just got it an hour ago. Data logged the 30 minute return trip.

Didn't know the intake temp went up so much when standing still in traffic. Got to 130 in 95(according the message cluster) degree weather. Got down to 96 when going 84.

I'll see if I can make a video of it later tonight, when there is less traffic and it gets cooler.

You should see the intake temp with no intercooler at 9lbs of boost......LOL seen 240 before I let out once......
