you should have asked how he made it. i was thinking of makin one for my expy but really dont have the need for it. i can't imagine i would be in water deep enough to require a snorkle. looks good though. most homemade ones look like ass!

looks good. but if ur in water that deep water in the intake is the last thing on your mind. cops and everything else will get flooded and kill the engine.

dont forget your alternator! you get in water deep enough to where you need a snorkle, you better hope you waterproofed the rest of your engine bay or you are just gonna be sittin there in a bunch of water with nowhere to go!

exactly. thats why my uncles jeep dosent have one. he goes in deep water but nothing water proof so he dosent stay too long. theres a video of a fj crusier on the fordyce trail and i think he had a snorkle and he got stuck in the water cause of water. his winch didnt even work cause everything was fried. ive done that trail with my uncle and usualy the water isnt that bad but if it looks bad dont cross!

snorkle is a great idea, forward movement keeps engine dry till you hit an inch above the wheel well then you suck water and are in trouble, been there, my problems were not from water getting any where other than through the intake, then spending hrs pulling plugs and blowing them out, so if your running water over wheel wells bravo for you, it looks really great man, ill be building one for mine in the future also, hats off, now go chase jet skiers around, lol

Looks like a great job. Was wondering about your lift and tire and rim size. I have also been searching for a safari rack like yours, where did you get it?

That thing is bad ass! I have looked and looked to find a Expedition built up like that and never found one. Glad to get a glimps at what my goal is. I had a snorkel in mind but wondered how it would look. No woundering now!

Itd be cool to get stats on the truck, lift, tire size and a how to on the homemade snorkel.

the snorkel seems easy to make. just drill a hole in the fender about 3" and ad a coupler to the intake and then ad pvc tubing for the snorkel. i would do it but not to mine. seems a little off to me.

I think it gives it the NO joking look! For me when I get to I have a DD car/truck and my expedition somewhat of a toy you better believe Ill be trying to test the snorkel out.

I got to find a video a friend posted on myspace years ago of some Camal Cup 4x4 chalange. These guys had to do water crossings where the water was to their noses of their face. The rigs had a good amount of lift and running 44's.
