Snow Chains for 2WD Expedition p285/45 R22

The owners manual says…
Only use snow chains on the following specified tire sizes. Only install chains that are 15mm or less (SAE Class S chains).

• 265/70R17
• 275/65R18

Does this mean I shouldn’t use chains (cables)? We spend 2-3 days a year in snowy conditions and have always used chains. Does Ford expect people to do a wheel tire change for snow?
