I have read through all of the Keyless Entry Keypad threads that I can find. This is my first Ford, I found my factory code and it's something like 14408 (but that's not it) the question is that each keypad button has two numbers on it. How do you differentiate between say the 3 and the 4? Do I double tap the pad to get the second number? This is the part that is confusing me. The good part is I entered the number wrong so many times that it went into the one minute lockout.

Also, do all of the windows have to be up for this to work?

Thanks,

Andy

I just hit the buttons in the center. For the case of 44 I press the 3-4 button twice.

Call a dealership with your VIN, they should be able to confirm what the keypad number is. At least I would think they would be able to look it up.

Just to make sure things are clear, you only press the 3-4 button once per number regardless of which number it is supposed to be.

Okay that explains what I was doing wrong! I was hitting the number button twice to get the second number i.e. 3|4 hitting it twice to get a four.

Thank you for clarifying that for me.

I'm not sure, but if you bought the car second hand and someone had programmed their own code but you didn't have it, you might need to reset the keypad to the factory number first. There's a procedure in the manual.

Also, I have a 2006, and I can tell you where to find the factory code if the card is missing from your owner's manual.

I have the owners manual and it showed the code as being in the right footwell above and to the left of the fuse box.

The factory code overrode everything and I entered my own personal code. Both codes work.

I purchased a second key fob today so now I have two.
