Sound augmentation

I was all set to remove the rear resonator on my 2016 Platinum when I read this thing about sound augmentation through the radio on a Platinum. What is this? Does that mean I will hear the engine while listening to my radio? What if I put a resonator tip on after I reroute the exhaust to the side? Help, I don't want to change the exhaust only to secrete another problem.

The Ecoboost trucks come with "fake engine noise" that plays out of the speakers so they sound like real V-8's. I suppose Ford thought a guy paying $80,000 for his truck shouldn't hear a motor that sounds like a sewing machine or milk truck.

If you change the exhaust the fake engine noise will still be there, along with any new noise your modified exhaust puts out the tailpipe.

Fake Engine sound. How stupid. Like putting playing cards on your bicycle spokes. I would be embarrased to buy a car with that feature. I would go to the dealer and demand they to remove it.

More popular than you may be aware. Many high end sports cars have this "feature". I agree, it's bizarre.

If your engine can't make its own noises its not powerful enough.

Thanks for all the replies. I will remove the ugly , long black hair emitting resonator and move my exhaust to the side behind the rear tire.
