Spare Tire Location

Does the spare tire go with face of rim up, or down? Is it OK to mount tire with valve stem down? Or up? Silly question but I've asked other silly stuff.

I mount mine valve stem down so you can check and add air as needed.

Thanks, and that is how mine is mounted now but before the recent flat the valve was mounted on top. It did seem easier to get the rim capture piece in place with the face up since there was more room on the backside to insert it. With valve down the face is closer to the ground and tire must be lifted to insert capture plate. Probably wort the effort to keep tire pressure right. Thanks again.
