spare tire winch not working

I need some help.

When I went to lower my spare tire on my '06 Expedition today all it would do is click in both directions. Like it was racheting or something.

Can someone please help me figure out how to get the winch working so that I can get the pare tire and wheel down?

try pulling down on the tire while someone cranks the handle if that doesn't work you may have to cut the cable

Also look at the cable and lift while someone is turning the handle to make sure it is engaged

There's a spare tire winch for sale for a 1995 model. From what I can see of mine through the hole in the back floor, it does not look exactly the same as the one on my 2006.

Does anyone know if it will fit/work in my 2006?
