I have driven quite a few cars but I notice when I push hard on the breaks of my 2001 Expy there seems to be a delay of what seems about 1 second before the brakes actually start breaking... Is that normal? If I ride the brakes it works fine, but there seems to be a little "spongy" area that when pushed does nothing until you push past it...
Its almost got me in trouble a couple times, brakes were checked recently and do not need to be replaced but I am willing to do it if it will help with the "reaction time" that they respond to.

Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

On the Gen 1 Expy's, there is actually a nut/bolt behind the master cylinder you can adjust to increase or decrease how much play there is in the pedal. I'll see if I can find the how to on another site.

I have the same issue, when I tried the link it says that the link doesn't exist anymore
This is an old thread, Start a thread in 1st gen section and tell us when you first noticed spongy brakes and what has been recently done to the brakes. and you will get a ton of help.
