The front wheel on my 03 Expedition is making an awful sqeeling sound. After removing the wheel and caliper it looks like there may be a problem with the wheel bearing. is it necessary to replace the entire hub or can the bearings be replaced?

It shouldn't be a big deal to just do the bearing unless there is damage in the hub. If there is damage it should be visible watch for worn ridges on the inner part of the hub. Gl!

Do you have a 4x4 or 4x2? Either way, it seems that the hub will have to be replaced for both.

Did a bearing today on a 98 GMC. and thought about this thread. I would say its in your best interest to replace both while your there.
