I'll post this here since its related to my 07 EB EL 4x4.

Ever since I had this one (picked up with 45k) its had a soft brake pedal. Its been inconsistent at times, sometimes softer (and longer pedal travel) than others with poor feel.

I;ve had the pads replaced (Motorcraft) and new front rotors. I'm debating EBC Green Stuff pads and new rear rotors.

I would think the only thing left would be the booster.

Any suggestions?

Well the master could be a problem or there is air in the system,
you could get the fluid cheked for moisture this can cause problems

I had the fluid swapped out and that made no difference (unless there was air in the lines before and there's still air in there....)

I see others noticed this problem too. Its almost like you need to give the brakes a pump or two to get a firm pedal.

I just had my 07 EL's front/rear brakes done, with pads replaced and rotors turned and have noticed the pedal is much "squishier" since then. Thought maybe it was just me. Is it worth taking back to the shop that did the brakes and having them look at it? Could something they did have caused the change in pedal feel?

Would those have been affected by a simple pad/rotor service though? Night & Day difference from before having the brake service to after. So was it something they did?

im just guessing...but it may have time change issues...so by the time the brakes need repair so does the MC or booster...unless it goes out 1st...then again...it could be improper bleeding of the brakes....it happened to me and happening to you..once i fixe he brake boost i was good to go

Got new front rotors last inspection and that helped significantly. This weekend will be new pads (HPS Hawk I think) and new rear rotors. Its about 120k so I don't feel bad about new rear rotors.

I'll report back if that helps/hurts the situation.

Rotors have come down so far in cost that saving the old ones isn't even worth it. Mine as well pop in fresh ones
