Steering problems

Wife calls this morning say the steering locked up on here while she was turning left. Long story short. She heard what she descrines as a small thud and then while turning left the steering would turn but not the wheels. She put on the brakes a couple times and then she was able to turn. She made it back home with out any other issues. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?

have you looked underneath to see if anything is disconnected? sounds like steering linkage is loose or something. def wanna get that checked out.
