An alignment is only as good, as the guy doing it. Dealer mechanics are lazy and paid per job, not hourly. Corners are cut, like taking a test drive, after replacing a steering rack or making sure the steering wheel is perfectly centered. The shop that screwed up, should be paying for those tires.
Van Bortle Ford in Fairport aligned my 2014EL as soon as I bought it (w 34K miles). The mechanics there did a perfect job. It runs straight and true as can be. I don't even need to rotate the tires it's so good. So far anyway. I've only put 13000 miles on the last set of tires. A lot of that (no rotation with even wear) thing is because the vast majority of miles are highway.

Mine was the same way. It had been a lease / rental vehicle. Tire pressure was 32lb when I got it. I suspect the rental agency ran them soft for extra ride comfort. In order to correct I ran them at 40 lbs until new ones were needed.

You mention 40 psi...my door sticker says 35psi. What is everyone running their tires at? My dealer puts them at 35 and I keep them there.

Tread wear on shoulders is low air pressure I am running my 2017 with factory tires at 45psi to get the centers to wear, as for the heavy wear on the outsides or inside but not both that is alignment try another shop that has someone that will adjust for wear, sometimes factory specs. just don't cut it
