Was looking at the tires/rotors, all was good until I got to the drivers side rear rotor. It showed way more wear than the other 3. Rotor was starting to become gouged full circle. Did not show signs of excessive heat. I had this happen to our 2021 KR but it was both rear rotors. That occurred at 10K miles. This has 20K on it. Goes for a oil change in a couple of weeks guess I'll keep an eye on it for a bit. I'm thinking the caliper is starting to hang up a bit, warranty should take care of it.
All in all this truck has been trouble free thus far. So, we like the truck and everything about it.

I do brake maintenance once a year on all my vehicles. Usually late summer or early fall. Full disassembly, lubing and reassemble. Never had trouble after doing this.

Yup,good practice. It is the friggin' salt air. We are about 200 feet from the ocean and the salt spray/air gets carried over to the point that the windshield wipers have to be used every morning. A new car wash opened and does unlimited wash's for $30.00 @month. That thing is through at least every other day most weeks. We had shut off the nannies that use the rear brakes to function but it apparently wasn't enough.

If I were here, you would know it !
Gouges are bad news, as it ruins the rotor(s), as well as indicating that your pads are severely worn down to the rivets....

Get them replaced like yesterday, or your wheel bearings, speed sensors and ABS system will be the next repairs that you will need (big money)....been there, done that, neva eva again :D

I am close to the ocean as well and the salty air.
Gauges also appear in a mixture of wet or “salt air” and driving dirt road. Even for a short distance will do it. The gauges appear because something got into the breakes. If you got warranty, go for it. If not, turn the brake disks on a lathe and put new pads on it. Problem solved. I usually get 2 rounds of pads for one rotor unless there is something extreme happening.

I've some warranty left so in the next week or so I'll run it to the dealer and see what they have to say. I've had this issue before with a different service manager and his explanation was "you live beach side so it's normal". I explained that I was unaware of any wording in my warranty that addressed premature wear due living in close proximity to the ocean and precluded coverage. I don't foresee any problem with the dealer on this.
