My 05 has just started making a noise coming through the sub. Its loud when I first start the car for 30 seconds or so then quietens down some but you can still hear it. At first the sub wasn't working so I changed the sub fuss, sub started working again but still makes the noise. Help Please.

If you get a new one make sure it's very shallow. I bought a new after market sub for my stock box and the sub specs said the Mounting Depth was 4 Inches and it still didn't fit because the magnet was hitting the back of the box where the stock bolt goes.

Changing the sub won't help. Does it change with volume or a steady noise?

There should be room behind the panel to add a spacer between the factory box and the new sub to make it fit and still fit behind the panel. That's what I did.

My problem is the sub is too tall for the box.

I have a Navi with the THX system so the box may be different but the sub I used was 4 1/8" and was too tall to fit. The installer made a spacer ring for it to make room. It fit fine and still fits behind the back panel.
