98 ford expedition 120k ...have replaced front swaybar bushings, but i still get a rattle when going over bumps ??? the shocks are original, could they be the problem
At that kind of mileage you should probably replace your shocks anyway, IMO. Look around at local shops and it's easy to find a good deal. I have the cheap Les Schwab Mountain Ryder XTs and like them. So do the shocks and see if it still rattles.
my sway bar bushings are shot! thats where my rattles coming from. but im going to replace all of them once i get my spacers. cause then im going to get new shocks.
I had a rattle in the front about 2 years ago, thought it was my recovery D-ring hanging off the tow hook, so I took that off, still there.
Turns out, one of the front swaybar mounting brackets had broken in half. Probably my fault, for trying to flex the poor suspension so far all the time....
Glad to hear my bag of bolts is not the only one rattling. I have a 2008 with 40k miles. That is pretty pathetic. It is getting worse but I have not had the chance to get up underneath it. I thought maybe an exhaust hanger broke but obviously the sway bar bushings is a common problem?
