Swapping manual climate controls for a digital one?

I checked the old threads and didn't see anything on this. I am used to my 00 Pontiac GTP having auto climate controls. I know they are available in the Expedition, however my XLT did not come with it. Is it possible to swap them out, I know people in the GTP world have done it, however I believe it is difficult. Anyone know for sure?

I have read that this is fairly difficult on the Exby. There are quite a number of sensors and related equipment, for which the wiring harness is not installed to accomodate.
