Does anyone know how to get the gear indicator to show in the little screen left of the main info screen?
Put your Expy in gear, then press ‘-’ on shifter handle...you should then be able to see the gears.
Ha, Ha, I love it.Shifter handle? What shifter handle? Holy crap, my truck is missing the shifter handle!
Shifter? What is this 1920?Put your Expy in gear, then press ‘-’ on shifter handle...you should then be able to see the gears.
This is my first ford, coming from a dodge grand caravan, but i can say it worked the same as the ford, if you started bumping the [-], it would remove available gears from auto. so if you were already in the top gear, bumping - would have the same effect of a downshift, as it removes the current gear from the options. I would usually do this when downshifting for long downhills. The ford performs the same, you can [-] a few times to force it to downshift, then [+] again to allow those gears to be selected again (and up shift by using your foot).Yes interesting indeed!
I am not arguing as to whether what you guys are saying is true or not. I am saying that up until a couple of posts ago, several people have stated that to get the gearshift indicator to populate you simply press the plus or minus button. While there is truth to that it is not quite accurate. As the manual posted above states, pressing the button enables PRS mode which in turn, is awaiting further input to select gears that you do not want to access. That is absolutely different than saying the plus and minus buttons are toggle buttons to simply display or not display the gearshift indicator!
As far as the plus minus not shifting the transmission, that just seems like a change for 2018 as I have owned several other fords and the plus/minus could always be used to shift no matter whether you were in auto or manual. It was nice to simply press up or down when needed quickly without having to shift into manual mode.
