As cheap as an oil change is I don't think i'd trust any marketing. 5-6k maybe.. definitely not 15k.

I wouldn't think of it!
Especially with a 3V motor.

I use nothing but AMSOIL... I go more than 15K on oil changes too... I use it in my expedition, my wifes Trailblazer, my SHO and daughters Volvo... It is the BEST oil out there!

Amsoil full Synthetic is better than Mobile1 and you can go 10K with it...

I have used 10k interval with standard Mobil1 in eight different vehicles over the last six years. Prior to that I did 15k with Amsoil, but moved away from the distribution center city and shipping got too expensive. Both methods have worked for me (F250 w/ 5.4 using these methods currently at 273k miles and going strong). Just put Mobil1 Extended Performance in the Expy, I will run it to 15k this time.

For those of you who go these extended mileages between oil changes, how often are you replacing the filter?

I use full synthetic rated for 10k changes. I still do an oil and filter change every 3k

The question I have is why?
Maybe it's me, but I enjoy rolling under the truck every 3K to change the oil & giver it a look over. No engine was ever destroyed by frequent oil changes. However... the inverse is not so accurate. just my .02

I've used Mobil 1 in my 07 Expy and had it tested at 5k running M1 filter. I used Blackstone labs and they said it try 7500. I don't think I would jet go to 10k without "testing the waters" and getting the oil tested at 7500.

My SHO has an oil life monitor (not just an odometer countdown) and it seems to show around 10k change interval, although Blackstone recommended testing at 7500.
