Good to know, but my temps were spiking at constant speed going up hills. Not the driving you describe.

I did the heat on full and rechecked the coolant level. All seems good.

I have not seen the rad fans come on with it idling (a/c off of course), even letting it sit for 5-10 mins after driving it. But temp on the gauge has remained on center, no numbers above it.

Guess I’ll see on the next longer highway drive.

Drove the family 5 hours away to the Jersey shore. Same 6 people with luggage and roof rack. Zero temp alerts on hills.

Also, the tranny temp was sitting at 189-190*. Never went above 190*, and it did not fluctuate with acceleration/deceleration as it did with the old t stat.

I think the old t stat was sticking closed a bit, but I can still say I'm glad I put the 180* one in.
